Monkey See Monkey Blue

I finished my Blue Monkey Socks. They are love-ly.

I made a little progress on some of my WIPS too. However, I think I am going to be ripping out three of my WIPS. The Fawkes sock in STR Firebird is totally the wrong gauge, I will never get a sock out of this yarn on size 2 needles. The Regia Bamboo socks are much looser than I like, the stockinette is almost lace. I like my stockinette nice and tight.

I love my roadtrip socks. STR Heavyweight knits up so wonderfully. The Minestone colorway held a few surprises, I like it.

I need to rip out my Gansey Sock too, fast and wrong!!!

Bellatrix is still on track, Victorian Lace is on hold and I need to rewrite Nagini cuff down before I cast on. Somewhere in all this I want to get a few more repeats of my Canopy Shawl done. It is so pretty. I really am enjoying the pattern. I have a few yarn orders in route, some lovely Wollmeise colorways from Germany and some Ravenclaw striping yarn from Australia.

Hey Bev! I had no idea you were a relatively new sock knitter (as discovered on ravelry). Your blue monkeys are great! I finished my Fawkes (knit on 1.5's) and they are wonderful! I'll be updating my ravelry page and maybe even my blog with them soon. If you do end up needing more yarn, let me know as I have a small ball left (wish I'd done another repeat on the leg!)

These look great! Do you think this would be a good first pattern for me? I LOVE THE MONKEY SOCKS!!!!

Adrienne - I think the Monkey pattern is easy enough for a beginner. I could not put them down after the first repeat. The Knit Picks Mock Croc socks are even simpler, and very pretty too.

Carrie,
I am going to go down to a 1, I have some 0's too, but then I would have to start messing around with the stitch count on size 0s because the sock would be so much smaller. I'll post on how it's going.
